Ahhhh, Thanksgiving…

While digging through our recipes, I found a handwritten recipe for apple pie from my mom. I thought it might be fun to try and make one. Mind you, I virtually never make crust from scratch. After the first batch of dough, I was on the phone with Diane suggesting she bring a couple pre-made pie  shells home. After googling pie crust, I learned that you need to keep the dough cold. (Probably obvious to my mother). So I used ice water and made a double batch. Anyway, while doing this project I kept flashing back to times in the kitchen with my mom. I remembered how she taught me to read using recipes. No wonder I was 300 lbs of love…

And of course, good food deserves good wine. They were served left to right. And most definitely best in that order as well.
