New Downwind Sail For Aiya

Diane and I decided a spinnaker would be a good addition to Aiya. Mostly because she is a big heavy boat and the summer breeze around here is light and nearly always blows up river.

It was amazingly difficult to come up with a color scheme we liked with the limited color pallet available. We ultimately decided on this.

The 2nd to bottom panel has a little more green that we would like. But it all seems simple and elegant. Bought the sock which you can see at the top.

Here is a another shot from a few feet away with us doing some dock sailing. This got the harbormaster all worked up. Came running to make sure we weren’t hurting his dock. But the winds were light. No harm no foul.

That is a our friend Captain Bob on the foredeck. He came by to make sure we had all of the hardware necessary to fly the thing. He gives a good sense of scale as to how dang big this thing is.
